Gear
Match the equipment to the job.
The rarest-looking stat is not useful if it applies to the wrong faction, wrong troop type or wrong hero role.
The three Gear systems
| System | What it does | Beginner rule |
|---|---|---|
| Hero Gear | Equipment worn by an individual hero | Best pieces go to March 1; match statistics to the wearer |
| Chief Gear | Account-wide combat bonuses shown on the Chief | Permanent broad strength; watch set and breakpoint benefits |
| Signature Weapon | Hero-specific equipment and bonuses | Concentrate scarce tokens on proven core heroes |
What should each hero wear?
- Tank: health, defense, damage reduction and survivability.
- Damage dealer: attack, damage bonus, Skill damage or matching offensive stats.
- Healer/support: healing bonus when applicable, plus enough survival to keep helping.
Always confirm that faction- or troop-specific wording matches the hero.
Before upgrading Gear
- Confirm the wearer is in March 1.
- Confirm the stat applies to that hero's faction or troop type.
- Confirm it supports the hero's job.
- Check whether the upgrade reaches a star, quality or special-stat breakpoint.
- Compare the benefit with upgrading a weaker March 1 piece.
Reforge without setting hammers on fire
At the required Gear progression, Reforge unlocks special statistics. Official guidance divides them into general bonuses and bonuses tied to Gear slot, troop type or faction.
| Hero job | Useful directions |
|---|---|
| Tank | Damage reduction, defense, health and Skill-damage reduction |
| Damage dealer | Damage bonus, attack, active-Skill damage and applicable Crit effects |
| Support | Healing bonus when relevant, team benefits and survival |
Should Gear be balanced evenly?
Keep all five March 1 heroes functional, then invest by impact. A collapsing tank or harmless damage dealer is a larger problem than one slightly uneven equipment level. Avoid polishing backup heroes while a core slot remains weak.
Are Reforge stats active everywhere?
The official Reforge guide states that special stats apply across combat, including marches and exploration. Because balance and wording can change, use the in-game description as the final authority.
