Troops
Better troops matter. So does having some left tomorrow.
Troop strength comes from quality, quantity, march capacity, research and the heroes commanding them. Training a mountain of weak troops can inflate Power without fixing your best march.
The simple troop plan
- Keep all Barracks training.
- Unlock higher tiers through Power Plant, buildings and research.
- Upgrade older troops when the game allows it efficiently.
- Improve march capacity so more useful troops enter the fight.
- Protect Hospital space before dangerous events.
Four different troop numbers
| Number | What it tells you | What it does not tell you |
|---|---|---|
| Troop tier | Base quality of those troops | How many fit in the march |
| Total troop count | Army depth and replacement options | Power of one march |
| March capacity | How many troops the selected march can carry | Whether those troops have good bonuses |
| Troop Power | A broad account number | Who wins a specific fight |
Before a real battle
Every event handles casualties differentlyBefore attacking, tap the event rules. Confirm whether troops become lightly wounded, severely wounded, enlisted or dead. Never assume a special battlefield protects troops because another event did.
Should I convert every old troop immediately?
Higher tiers are usually better in your important march, but conversions use training time and may compete with creating new troops or scoring events. Keep the queues productive and time large conversions around your actual army needs and event calendar.
Why can fewer troops win?
The smaller army may have a higher tier, better march capacity, stronger applicable research, better heroes, stronger Gear, faction advantages or superior formation. “Troops” are only one layer of the fight.
