Research
Pick a destination before tapping nodes.
Research is permanent, but that does not make every research equally urgent. Choose what your account needs next, trace its prerequisites backward and keep the queue moving.
The beginner research plan
- If a useful speed or help upgrade is cheap, take it early.
- Work toward troop tier and march-capacity progress.
- Improve combat stats used by your main march.
- Add economy research when it fixes a real shortage.
- Save scarce Clash Medals for a planned branch—not random crumbs.
Choose your current problem
| If this is the problem... | Look for research that... |
|---|---|
| Builds and research take forever | Improves construction, research or alliance-help efficiency |
| Your next troop tier is locked | Completes the exact troop-tree prerequisites |
| Your best march loses close fights | Improves applicable attack, defense, health, troop or march statistics |
| You cannot send enough troops | Increases march capacity, if available |
| You constantly lack one resource | Improves production or gathering for that bottleneck |
| You do not know what to research | Advances a cheap prerequisite toward one of the goals above |
Before pressing Research
Clash Medals are not confettiIf a research uses a scarce event currency, pause. Confirm the whole path and the next meaningful breakpoint before spending. A little progress in six branches may unlock less than finishing one important route.
Economy first or combat first?
Early speed upgrades can compound for months, but endlessly improving economy while ignoring troops leaves you efficient and harmless. Take strong, affordable long-term bonuses early; then aim at the troop, march and combat milestones that serve your current goal.
Should I save research speedups for events?
Usually, if waiting does not leave the research queue empty or block an important unlock. Start a useful long research, collect alliance help, and finish it during a matching event when practical. Permanent progress is more important than perfect event timing.
